::BIOGRAPHY::
Winter of Life was born on march 2000, as the result of the match up between
Peppe Sgrò and Alessandro Martinelli, two guitar players. In the
first year of life our line-up underwent many changes: from a female to
a male voice ( Elia Daniele, later singer for Funereum) and different
attempts for drums (Daniele Ciao, f.e., now playing for Endorphine).
This period of uncertainty helped Peppe and Alessandro to develop a great
team-spirit, so they were able to write the first two songs (“Last
Night” and “The Time for My Revenge”); a bit later the
two guitarists decided to leave the other players, finding in semptember
2001 two new members: Andrea Tulisi(bass) and Geky Capaccio, a 14years
old drums player. This new meltin’pot gave stability and strongness
to the band: infact, a first worm up began as a tour through high schools,
and our most played song, “This Cold Embrace”(usually our
opening piece at concerts), came out. Semptember 2002 is the beginnig
of another small revolution for our line up: Andrea left the band replaced
with Gianfranco Delle Cave, a new singer,Francesco Crisci, was enlisted
and mostly the join of a keyboard operator, Dimitri Tetta, definitely
changed our music style. The time to experiment arrived: we tried out
double voices(clean-growl), three new songs(“witHer”,”be{for[ev(H)er]}”
and “Winter of Life”) came out and the project to register
our first demo was going to become reality on summer 2003. This project
had to stop for a while because of new changes: the singer quited, and
for a few time he was replaced by Roberto Toderico former vocalist for
Burial in Sulphur. The band, thou, figured out as best solution to entrust
Alessandro(clean) and Peppe(growl) with the singing performances too;
in the meantime another song, “For the Person I’ll Become”,
was added to the other five and finally at the ‘Jumping Spider Studio’
in Naples the demo “Parentheses” was recorded with the producing
contribution of Maddalena Bellini by the following formation: Geky Carpaccio-drums,
Gianfranco Delle Cave-bass, Alessandro Martinelli-guitar and clean vocals,
Peppe Sgrò-guitar and growl vocals, Dimitri Tetta-keyboards.
During winter 2003 we decided to delay the demo coming out to summer 2004,
using those months to make the last retouches. After playing with many
napoletan rising bands, we had the honor to support the Novembre in a
concert.
Suddenly Alessandro Martinelli, the guitar player, left us to join Endorphine full-time; the bewilderment lasted few days; after a parentheses with Luca D'Alterio a new guitarist, Dario Bellicoso ,
joined us and the return of the singer Elia Daniele helped the band to
remodel itself: Geky Capaccio-drums, Gianfranco Delle Cave-bass, Dario Bellicoso -guitar and backing vocals, Peppe Sgrò-guitar and clean&growl vocals,
Dimitri Tetta-keyboards and growl vocals, Elia Daniele-clean vocals.
Right now we are involved into the promotion of “Parentheses”,
but we already wrote five brand new pieces…..and hardly we will
stop!
